Through the most overwhelming time, I took a step toward my dream and continued moving forward. All the while, I kept in mind a lesson I had learned years earlier.
I sat down at my desk invigorated, ready to start the day. After juggling three jobs, I decided to go full-time into real estate. I started as an assistant for a local agent and eventually became a licensed REALTOR®. I put my whole self into real estate because I discovered a passion for my work unlike anything else.
There were moments of doubt, but I kept going. At the time I was building my real estate career, I was also going through a separation and divorce. Balancing many huge life changes was tough, but I always found comfort in my work as a REALTOR®. My children were teenagers and supportive of what I was doing. Still, that did not simplify the process of building a business from the ground up.
Throughout my life, I have worn many hats: military spouse, mother, stockbroker, and more. Real estate reignited what I loved most about being a stockbroker, a career I had many years ago. It brought me back to helping others plan their lives.
Ever since I bought my first home, real estate grabbed my attention. However, with two young children and moving every few years as a military family, it was not a viable option at the time. Through all the moves and houses I have lived in, I enjoyed the real estate process, especially establishing community with those around me.
I was used to moving frequently (with a father in the military you have to be). Though it wasn’t always easy, it encouraged me to make friends quickly—a skill that stayed with me all my life. Although it was always hard to leave each place, I would continue strengthening my friendships and adding to my ever-growing circle of friends.
After many moves, I ended up in Virginia and returned for good with my family in 1999. This has been home for a long time for me and was a wonderful place to raise my boys while firmly planting my roots.
We all have pivotal moments in our lives—tough actions or decisions we must make if we want to move forward. I have had my fair share, but I do not let them dictate my life. Instead, I focus on where I want to be in the end. Though my kids and my fiancé’s children are all grown and creating their own paths in life now, family is still number one for me. That extends well beyond blood. People are the defining factor of my life, the reason I continue to have regular yearly events bringing everyone together.
I am a connecter. I love planning, helping, doing—I do better if there is a fire under me. Connecting those I love with each other and helping them in any way I can is my main focus. Once I become a part of your life, you will become a part of my family.
Experiences are more meaningful to me than awards or gifts. All I want to do is spend time with those I love, sharing my passions. In fact, my fiancé and I bought a boat instead of a ring—something we can enjoy together!
I realized a long time ago not to sweat the small stuff. In the grand scheme of things, each moment is just one small step on our journey bringing us closer to where we want to be. Every step may not be linear, but we can always find our way back on track. Whenever I am not working, I enjoy traveling, reading and going to the gym. The best part of being a REALTOR® for me are the people I work with.
I have probably had over 20 addresses throughout my life, so I know how to make transitions smoother for my clients. Acting not only as a REALTOR® but also as a local resource, I connect my clients with the best places to eat, vendors, and anything else that they might need. Real estate is more than a home, it is often our greatest investment. I enjoy helping my clients leverage that to achieve their goals.
Taking every factor into account, I will help you explore each available option. My clients are my top priority, and that means ensuring you are comfortable with the decisions you make. Though I love real estate for the ability to create my own success, I stay in it for the people. Over the past decade, I have witnessed what a difference a positive real estate experience can make. I will always go the extra mile to get my clients the results they want. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support your success as your lifelong REALTOR® and friend.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Campbell
